Vuosisuo is a Finnish term that translates to "century bog" or "ancient bog." It refers to a bog that has existed for a very long time, typically over a century, and has developed complex ecological characteristics due to its age. These bogs are often characterized by deep peat layers, which accumulate over centuries as plant matter decomposes slowly in waterlogged, anaerobic conditions.
