Vitropropagation, also known as tissue culture or micropropagation, is a scientific technique used for the rapid multiplication of plants under sterile laboratory conditions. This method involves growing plant tissues, cells, or organs in nutrient-rich media outside of the original plant, allowing for the production of numerous genetically identical plants, or clones.

The process typically begins with the selection of a small piece of the plant, called an explant, which may be a leaf, stem, or root segment. The explant is sterilized to prevent microbial contamination and then placed on a culture medium containing essential nutrients, vitamins, and plant growth regulators such as auxins and cytokinins.
