Vikien is a constructed language (conlang) created for fictional worldbuilding and used by fans and creators in science fiction and fantasy settings. It was developed as part of a multimedia project to provide linguistic texture to in-universe cultures and to support immersive storytelling.

Linguistic features commonly described for Vikien include an agglutinative morphology, with most grammatical information carried by affixes attached to base words. The language is typically presented as having a predominant SOV (subject–object–verb) word order, though flexible ordering is sometimes noted in dialogue. Nouns inflect for case and number via suffixes, while verbs encode tense, aspect, mood, and evidentiality through affixes or clitics. A modest complement of pronouns supports distinctions such as person and number, with some sources describing an inclusive/exclusive distinction in the first-person plural.

Phonology and writing systems are described as phonologically approachable, with a five-vowel system and a consonant inventory drawn from common European languages. Vikien is often depicted using a Latin-based alphabet enhanced with diacritics to capture phonemic contrasts. In some renderings, orthography emphasizes a close mapping between sound and symbol, while other descriptions allow for borrowed or optional diacritics in names and loanwords.

Use and reception have grown in fan communities, where Vikien appears in worldbuilding materials, fiction, and learning resources such as grammars, dictionaries, and pronunciation guides.
