Vecintan is a coastal city and capital in the eastern portion of the fictional country of Lyria, located on the Aurelia coast. The city sits at the mouth of a protected harbor, anchored by a historic quayside and a modern port district. With a residential core built on hills and a waterfront promenade, Vecintan supports a population of about 110,000 in its urban area. The economy centers on fishing, shipbuilding, and logistics, with growing activity in tourism and public services.

Vecintan originated as a trading post in the 9th century, expanding into a fortified town during the medieval period. The harbor and market attracted merchants from across the Aurelia trade routes, and stone walls and a fortress were constructed to guard the port. The 17th–19th centuries brought port expansions, industrial workshops, and better inland connections. After World War II, the city underwent redevelopment that integrated modern housing, road networks, and an expanded harbor complex.

Geographically, Vecintan lies on a temperate maritime climate zone, with mild, wet winters and cool summers. The city is bordered by sea cliffs and a small river delta that preserves wetlands and supports migratory birds. The surrounding landscape comprises coastal plains to the south and a ring of low hills to the north, which shape urban growth and zoning.

Governance is a mayor–council system within a metropolitan district. The city council oversees municipal services, housing, and economic development, while a port authority manages commercial and fishing activities. Vecintan hosts a campus of the Lyria National University, along with several vocational institutes and research centers.

Cultural life centers on maritime heritage, seafood cuisine, and seasonal festivals. Notable landmarks include the Old Docks Quarter, the St. Mare Cathedral, and the Beacon Lighthouse. The vecintan Institute of Technology leads regional innovation in marine engineering, renewable energy, and logistics.
