vannaktige

Vannaktige is a species of aquatic insect that belongs to the family Pseudocloeonidae. They are found in freshwater environments and are commonly known as "water midges".

Vannaktige adults are small, typically between 2 to 4 millimeters in length, with a narrow body shape. They have a distinctive pair of compound eyes and a single pair of antennae. Their wings are usually transparent, with a network of veins visible to the naked eye.

The larvae of vannaktige are shaped like the pupae and also live in freshwater. They are usually found among aquatic plants and breathe air from the surface. The larvae of vannaktige feed on small particles and microorganisms, playing an important role in the aquatic ecosystem.

During mating, adult vannaktige females lay their eggs in suitable areas such as algae mats or nearby rocks. The males perform a courtship dance to attract a female to mate. The female, having laid eggs, will usually die shortly after mating, while the male may survive for several days or even a week before dying.
