Vaikutusvaltaan is a Finnish noun referring to the capacity to influence decisions, outcomes or behavior within a system. It encompasses formal authority and informal leverage that an actor can exert in contexts such as politics, business, or civil society. The term combines vaikutus (influence) and valta (power).

In practice, vaikutusvalta describes who can shape policy choices, resource allocation, or public discourse, and how easily their preferences become reality. Actors with vaikutusvalta may derive it from official positions (boards, ministries), resources (financing, information), expertise, networks, or reputation.

The concept is used in political science, corporate governance, and media studies to analyze power dynamics, coalition-building, and governance outcomes. Vaikutusvalta can be exercised openly through decisions and lobbying, or more subtly through agenda-setting and information control.
