Väkevöittäminen refers to the process of increasing the alcohol content of a beverage, typically through distillation. This technique is fundamental to the production of spirits and liqueurs, separating alcohol from water and other components of the fermented mash. The principle behind distillation relies on the fact that alcohol has a lower boiling point than water. When a fermented liquid is heated, the alcohol vaporizes more readily.
