The urogenital system is a group of organs that together manage the disposal of urinary waste and reproduction. It consists of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra for urine production and excretion, and the reproductive organs – testicles and penis in males; ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, and vagina in females. In both sexes, the urethra is a shared channel that carries urine out of the body and, in males, also conveys semen during ejaculation. The term “urogenitaalisessa” refers to anything pertaining to this combined urinary and genital system.
