Uraohjaukseen is a Finnish term used in mechanical engineering to describe a class of guiding arrangements in which a moving component is constrained to follow a groove. The groove acts as a rail, and a matching guiding element—such as a pin, roller, or tongue—fits inside it to determine the path and limit lateral motion. The concept is commonly applied in machine tools, fixtures, and automated equipment to achieve accurate, repeatable motion along a defined line.

Typical implementations include grooves machined or formed into a bed or slide, with a mating follower or limiting member engaging the groove’s profile.
