The cellular components of the tumorbed are diverse and include fibroblasts, immune cells such as macrophages and lymphocytes, endothelial cells that form blood vessels, and pericytes. Therapeutic strategies are increasingly being developed to target components of the tumorbed, aiming to disrupt tumor growth, prevent metastasis, or enhance the effectiveness of conventional treatments like chemotherapy and radiation.
