Tsüaniidimürgistus is the term used in Estonian for cyanide poisoning. Cyanide is a highly toxic chemical compound that can be fatal to humans and animals. It works by preventing the body's cells from using oxygen, leading to rapid cellular damage and death.

Sources of cyanide include certain plants like cassava and apricot kernels, as well as industrial processes like metal plating and fumigation. In some instances, cyanide can be produced by the body itself through metabolic processes, but typically in amounts that are not harmful.

Symptoms of cyanide poisoning can appear quickly and vary in severity depending on the dose and route of exposure.
