trängande

Trängande is a Swedish adjective and present participle derived from the verb tränga, meaning to push in, crowd, or press upon. In modern usage, trängande describes something that presses on or demands immediate attention—either in a physical sense or, more commonly, figuratively as an urgent or pressing matter. The sense of pressure or insistence is central to its figurative use.

In usage, trängande is most often placed before a noun to mark urgency or importance, for example en trängande fråga, ett trängande behov eller en trängande oro. It can also appear predicatively: Behovet är trängande.
