Tilaustaso is a Finnish term used in business and logistics to describe the level or status of orders within a system. The word combines tila (order) and taso (level or status), and the exact meaning can vary by context and software. In procurement and inventory management, tilaustaso commonly refers to the level of outstanding orders—purchase orders, sales orders, and their expected dates—within a given period. It is a metric used to assess workload, planning reliability, and service level.

In practice, tilaustaso can be a status indicator (open, confirmed, in transit, delivered) or a quantitative measure (sum of open orders' quantities relative to demand or capacity). Some ERP or MRP systems expose tilaustaso as a dashboard field showing current backlog and upcoming deliveries, helping planners decide whether to place new orders or adjust production schedules. It is related to, but distinct from, inventory level (varastotila), which measures stock on hand, and to lead time and service level commitments.

Ambiguities may arise because different organizations label and structure orders differently; translate to English as "order status" or "order level" depending on context. Understanding tilaustaso requires clarity about whether the reference is to the status of individual orders, the volume of outstanding orders, or the timing of deliveries.
