Tevékenységmezgazdaság, often translated as activity-based economics or activity economics, is a theoretical framework that analyzes economic activity by focusing on the fundamental actions or "activities" that constitute economic processes. It shifts the perspective from traditional factors like capital, labor, or goods, to the underlying tasks and operations. This approach suggests that the true economic value lies in the performance of these activities.

The core idea is to deconstruct complex economic phenomena into their constituent parts. For instance, instead of just looking at a manufactured car, activity-based economics would examine the specific activities involved in its creation: design, material procurement, assembly, quality control, marketing, and distribution. Each of these activities has its own costs, resource requirements, and potential for improvement.
