telekabel

Telekabel is a term used in science fiction and speculative technology discussions to describe a hypothetical method for remote control or power transfer over a network of cables by combining telekinetic-like remote influence with physical connections. The word blends telekinesis and cable. In-universe or theoretical discussions, telekabel envisions devices that can be activated, moved, or power-cycled at a distance without direct mechanical actuation, using a field or signal transmitted through existing cables, sometimes aided by specialized receivers and control units.

Concept and mechanism: In most depictions, telekabel relies on an advanced control field that interacts with conductive pathways, enabling commands or energy to propagate along cables to a target device. Real-world analogies include power line communication and remote I/O systems, but telekabel extends these ideas with a noncontact, intent-driven component. Limitations include dependency on the cable network quality, latency, potential interference, energy efficiency, and safety concerns.

In fiction, telekabel is used for remote maintenance, hijacking industrial systems, or compassionate rescue operations, illustrating themes of control, security, and infrastructure vulnerability. The concept remains speculative and is not supported by empirical evidence in contemporary science.
