taminlashdir

taminlashdir is an Uzbek verb meaning “to provide” or “to supply.” The word derives from the root tamin, which historically comes from Persian tamīnil, itself from the verb tamīn “to provide” or “to furnish.” The suffix –lash in Uzbek is a productive derivational morpheme that turns nouns into verbs, forming a causative action. Thus tamin–lash yields taminlash, “to supply,” and the infinitive ending –dir results in taminlashdir, the natural, full verb form used in modern Uzbek.

In contemporary usage, taminlashdir is employed in both formal and informal contexts. It can describe provisioning goods, services, or information, as in the sentence “Milliy kompaniya bu a’zo uchun ovqat taminlashdir.” The verb also appears in bureaucratic language, for example “Davlat o‘quv mashg‘ulotlari uchun video materiallar taminlashdir” meaning “to supply video materials for state educational sessions.” It is regularly conjugated across tenses: “o‘lim tavsiya qiladi, bu harakatni taminlaydi” (present), “o‘lim tavsiya qilgan edi, bu harakatni taminlagan bo‘ldi” (past), and “o‘lim tavsiya qilsa, bu harakatni taminlaydi” (conditional).

When used in administrative contexts, taminlashdir often associates with logistics and procurement. For example, a municipal office might issue a “taminlashdir takomi,” a supply approval order. In budgetary documents, the verb appears to denote allocation: “Avtomobil tizimi 2024 yilning taminlashdir bosqichi” (the 2024 supply stage of the vehicle system).
