Tähtäyskiikari, often translated as riflescope or telescopic sight, is an optical aiming device that is attached to a firearm to improve accuracy. It consists of a tube containing a series of lenses that magnify the target and a reticle, which is a pattern of crosshairs or other markings used for aiming. The magnification of a riflescope is typically indicated by a number followed by an 'x', such as 4x or 9-30x, meaning the object appears four times or nine to thirty times larger than when viewed with the naked eye.

Riflescopes are used for a variety of shooting applications, including hunting, sport shooting, and military or law enforcement use. They allow the shooter to see the target more clearly at longer distances and to place shots with greater precision. Some riflescopes also feature adjustable magnification, allowing the shooter to zoom in or out depending on the range to the target.

The reticle within a riflescope can vary in design. The most common is a simple crosshair, but other designs include dots, circles, or more complex ballistic reticles that have markings to compensate for bullet drop at different ranges. The adjustments for windage (horizontal adjustment) and elevation (vertical adjustment) are made by turning turrets on the riflescope, which move the reticle within the field of view to align with the target. Modern riflescopes can also incorporate features like illuminated reticles for low-light conditions, parallax adjustment to ensure the reticle remains aligned with the target regardless of the shooter's eye position, and built-in rangefinders.
