Sähköpään syöttö refers to the electrical connection that supplies power to the head or helmet-shaped component of an electromechanical system. The term is commonly used in Finnish engineering literature to describe the feed line or cable that carries voltage and current from a source, such as a battery or mains supply, to an electric head‑mounted device. In practice the feed may be a flexible cable, a direct drop cable, or a rigid connecting block mounted on the head assembly.

Typical characteristics of a sähk­öpään syöttö include low impedance to minimise voltage drop, shielding against electromagnetic interference, and a protection rating (IP or IPX) appropriate for the operating environment. In battery‑driven devices the feed is often rated for 12 V to 48 V DC, with currents ranging from a few milliamps for sensor nodes to several amps for motor drives. When the head is part of an autonomous vehicle or robotic platform, the feed may also carry data signals along with power, using twisted‑pair or fibre‑optic lines to reduce noise.

Applications of sähk­öpään syöttö are found in electric bicycles and scooters, where the head of the vehicle houses the instrument panel and control electronics; in electric wheelchairs, where the head unit contains the user interface and harvesting circuitry; and in wearable safety equipment such as smart helmets, where sensors and communication modules are powered through the head feed. The term also appears in the context of electrotherapy devices, where a head‑mounted electrode assembly receives a regulated current from the supply cable.

Design and use of sähk­öpään syöttö are governed by national and international standards, including the IEC 60454 series for electrical safety of motor devices and the VDE 0891 series for wiring of automotive light sources. Manufacturers must provide specifications for voltage rating, maximum current, temperature tolerance, and connector type to ensure interoperability and safety.
