sähködiaalysi
Sähködialyysi, also known as electrodialysis, is an electrochemical separation process used to remove ions from water or other solutions. It utilizes ion-exchange membranes and an electric field to drive the movement of ions. In a typical electrodialysis stack, alternating cation-exchange and anion-exchange membranes are placed between electrodes. When a voltage is applied, cations migrate towards the cathode and anions migrate towards the anode. The selective permeability of the membranes allows specific ions to pass through, effectively separating them from the bulk solution.
The process is commonly employed for desalination of brackish water, demineralization of industrial wastewater, and recovery
