Szivárgások refer to a phenomenon in Hungarian politics, which can be roughly translated to "leaks" or "covert communication." The term gained popularity in the 2010s, particularly in relation to the Orbán government's rule.

During the 2010s, a series of revelations and investigations frequently surfaced in the Hungarian media, implicating high-ranking officials in the government and the Fidesz party, to which the ruling party belongs. The media outlets publishing the information frequently cited anonymous sources.

Szivárgások often involve secretly recorded conversations, internal memos, and unpublished documents that appear to reveal corrupt activities, cronyism, and undue influence. Leakages from government circles, high up in the administration or from government institutions, have frequently stolen headlines.

It is difficult to pinpoint any single person or entity directly responsible for any actions under the kanonically labeled "szivárgások." On the other hand, investigative journalists speculatively point to "highly placed" individuals connected to apparatuses within the administration as potential culprits. The ruling Fidesz-government as the entity reacted mostly by suggesting ordinary leaking or hacking was involved, hinting at an attempt to destabilize the government.
