Syöpätaudit, or neoplasms, are a group of diseases characterized by uncontrolled cell growth. Diagnosis typically involves a combination of medical history, physical examination, imaging techniques such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRI, and laboratory tests, including blood tests and biopsies. Biopsies, where a tissue sample is examined under a microscope, are crucial for confirming the presence of cancer and determining its specific type and grade.

Treatment approaches for syöpätaudit are diverse and often depend on the cancer's type, stage, and the patient's overall health. Common treatments include surgery to remove tumors, chemotherapy to kill cancer cells, radiation therapy to damage cancer cells' DNA, immunotherapy to boost the body's immune response against cancer, and targeted therapy that focuses on specific molecules involved in cancer growth. Research continues to advance our understanding and treatment of these complex diseases.
