systemicity
Systemicity is a term used in philosophy, systems theory, and related disciplines to describe the quality of being systemic, i.e., pertaining to a system as a coherent whole rather than merely the sum of its parts. It denotes the property of a structure, process, or analysis to reflect interconnections, boundaries, feedback, and emergent behavior that arise from the organization of components into a larger whole. Systemicity contrasts with atomistic or reductionist viewpoints by emphasizing how parts interact within a framework of rules, constraints, and relationships.
In practice, systemicity guides thinking and methods that model wholes, levels of organization, and dynamic interactions.
Criticisms note that the term can be vague or used as a catch-all for any systemic thinking,
