syntaxinbinding
Syntaxinbinding refers to the molecular interactions in which syntaxin proteins bind to partner molecules. Syntaxin is a family of membrane-embedded SNARE proteins that drive vesicle docking and fusion in secretory pathways. The term can describe endogenous protein interactions that regulate SNARE assembly as well as exogenous ligands designed to modulate syntaxin function.
Syntaxin proteins, including syntaxin-1A, -1B, -3, and -4, possess an N-terminal Habc domain and a C-terminal SNARE
The syntaxin-binding interface is central to regulated exocytosis in neurons and other secretory cells. Proper syntaxin-Munc18
Researchers study syntaxin-binding with structural and biophysical methods, including crystallography, NMR, and binding assays. Structural work
