Many early civilizations, such as the Egyptians, Incas, Aztecs, and Norse peoples, incorporated solar worship into their religious and cultural practices, associating the sun with creation, power, and divine authority.

In ancient Egypt, the sun god Ra (or Re) was central to the state religion, believed to traverse the sky in a solar barque each day and journey through the underworld at night. The Incas worshipped Inti, the sun god, as the source of agricultural fertility and royal legitimacy, while the Aztecs revered Huitzilopochtli, a sun and war deity, whose rituals included human sacrifices to sustain cosmic order.
