A styrblock, also known as a steering block or steering yoke, is a mechanical component used in various types of vehicles and machinery to transfer motion and force within the steering system. It is commonly found in older automotive designs, particularly in vehicles with manual steering mechanisms, such as classic cars, trucks, and some heavy-duty equipment.

The primary function of a styrblock is to connect the steering wheel to the steering linkage, allowing the driver to control the direction of the vehicle’s front wheels. It typically consists of a central shaft or spindle with a universal joint at one end, which attaches to the steering column, and a splined or threaded connection at the other end, where it interfaces with the steering gear or drag link. This design enables smooth rotational movement while accommodating slight misalignments between components.
