Soudržnost, commonly written as soudržnost in standard Czech, is a noun used to describe the property of a system to stay united or bound together. The standard spelling in Czech is soudržnost; diacritics are often omitted in non-Czech texts or in environments that do not support them, producing soudrnost. The core idea is cohesion or solidarity that prevents fragmentation.

In physics and materials science, soudržnost refers to the internal bonding that keeps a material's structure intact. It is related to, but distinct from, external mechanical strength; high soudržnost means the particles or molecules tend to stay connected under load, contributing to stability and durability.

In sociology and political science, soudržnost denotes social cohesion—the degree to which members of a group share values, trust, and willingness to cooperate. It is influenced by institutions, equality, cultural norms, and economic conditions, and it affects the capacity for collective action and resilience.

In engineering, design, and urban planning, higher soudržnost of a system or community generally indicates a design or social fabric that distributes loads and stresses more evenly and recovers from disturbances more readily.
