smoothedge
SmoothEdge is a term used in computer graphics and digital imaging to describe a technique for reducing the jagged or aliased appearance of lines and curves, especially when displayed on raster displays. It is also known as antialiasing. When an image is rendered, diagonal lines and curves are represented by discrete pixels. Without smoothing, this can result in a staircase-like effect, which is visually unappealing and can make images appear less refined.
The core principle behind smoothedge is to blend the colors of pixels along the edges of objects.
Various algorithms exist to implement smoothedge, each with its own trade-offs in terms of computational cost
