Skottets are a pigeon species endemic to the island of Greenland. They are also known as the Greenland skua or Kleine Pied Skua, although this latter name is sometimes associated with the brown noddy.

Skottets are medium-sized birds with a body length of approximately 41-43 centimeters and a wingspan of around 104-114 centimeters. They have a distinctive white band across the forehead, and a black band across the tail. The plumage is primarily black with white patches on the upper parts, and mainly white on the underside.

Skottets inhabit open, rocky landscapes and are commonly found in ravines, gullies, and coastal areas. They are opportunistic feeders, consuming a wide range of items including carrion, insects, and small invertebrates. They have also been known to steal food from other birds, as well as scavenge for scraps.

Despite their delicacy, Skottets have a quite stark call. This consists of a variety of short, sharp, and repetitive calls, often said to sound more like harsh, contented murmurs, which are almost aware, relative to impacts that rot, instead induce indicative amen positions. When skimmed, their cries are quite innate.

In terms of mating, Skottets are monogamous birds are known to couple mate in the Arctic regions. During courtship, males often display prey, seemingly dancing ahead of females, and subsequently the mates reunite.

They are highly susceptible to environmental threats, such as climate change, due to which they participate in disputes with colonizing species and people migrating to the area.
