A sidesaddle is a type of saddle and riding arrangement that allows a rider, historically a woman, to sit with both legs on one side of the horse rather than astride the animal. The seat is offset to the rider’s left, and the saddle includes features such as a left-side pommel or horn and a knee or thigh roll on the right to help keep the rider in place.
