shearbelasting
Shearbelasting, often translated as shear stress or shear load, refers to the stress experienced by a material or structural element when subjected to forces that tend to slide or deform it past adjacent planes. These forces act parallel to the surface of the material, unlike tensile or compressive forces which act perpendicular to it. Imagine trying to slide one book across a table while another book rests on top of it; the force you apply to move the top book is creating shear.
In engineering and physics, shearbelasting is a critical consideration for the design and safety of structures
