Sezónnosti, or seasons, are distinct periods of the year characterized by specific weather patterns, daylight hours, and biological activity. The number of seasons varies by climate and culture, but the most commonly recognized are four: spring, summer, autumn, and winter. These seasons are driven by the Earth's axial tilt and its orbit around the Sun.

Spring, which typically occurs in March to May in the Northern Hemisphere and September to November in the Southern Hemisphere, is marked by increasing temperatures, longer days, and the blooming of plants. Summer, from June to August in the Northern Hemisphere and December to February in the Southern Hemisphere, is the warmest season with the longest days. Autumn, or fall, from September to November in the Northern Hemisphere and March to May in the Southern Hemisphere, is characterized by cooling temperatures, shorter days, and the falling of leaves. Winter, from December to February in the Northern Hemisphere and June to August in the Southern Hemisphere, is the coldest season with the shortest days.

In some regions, additional seasons are recognized, such as monsoon seasons in tropical climates or dry and wet seasons in arid regions. Cultural and agricultural practices often align with these seasonal changes, influencing activities like farming, migration, and festivals.
