Serigrafij, also known as screen printing, is a printing technique that uses a stencil to support an ink-blocking screen. A squeegee is moved across the screen to fill the hollows of the mesh with ink, which is then transferred onto the substrate by the pressure of the squeegee.

The process typically begins with the creation of a stencil. This can be done in several ways, including hand-cutting a design onto a screen, using photographic methods to create a stencil from a film, or employing digital stencil-making techniques. Once the stencil is prepared and adhered to the screen, the substrate, such as paper, fabric, or plastic, is placed beneath it.

Ink is then poured onto the screen, and a squeegee is used to draw the ink across the stencil. The ink passes through the open areas of the stencil and onto the substrate, creating the printed image. For multi-color prints, this process is repeated for each color, with separate stencils and screens used for each layer. Drying between color applications is often necessary.

Screen printing is a versatile technique suitable for a wide range of materials and applications. It is commonly used for printing on textiles like t-shirts and posters, as well as for industrial applications such as printing on circuit boards, glass, and ceramics.
