Selectfluor is the brand name for an electrophilic fluorinating reagent used in organic synthesis. Chemically, it is the tetrafluoroborate salt of N-fluoro-1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane, commonly referred to as F-TEDA-BF4. It functions as a source of electrophilic fluorine (F+) and is valued for its stability and ease of handling compared with other fluorinating agents.

In typical applications, Selectfluor delivers fluorine to nucleophilic centers in substrates, enabling the formation of carbon–fluorine bonds under relatively mild conditions. It is especially utilized for direct fluorination of activated arenes and alkenes, as well as for the fluorination of enolates and related species under catalytic or promoter conditions.
