sektoroch

Sektoroch is the transliterated term used in several Slavic languages to mean “in sectors” or “the sectors.” It is the locative plural form of the noun sektor (sector) in languages such as Russian, Ukrainian, and Belarusian, written as секторох or секторách in Cyrillic. The form appears in statistical, administrative, and economic texts to reference multiple distinct areas of activity or organization.

In economics, sektoroch refers to subdivisions of an economy, commonly grouped as primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors, with additional categories such as quaternary or informal sectors depending on the classification system. Analysts use sectoral data to study growth, employment, and output by sector; national accounts classify activity to sectors to measure structure and performance. Sectoral indicators are often presented as shares or growth rates for each sector.

Outside economics, sektoroch can appear when discussing field-specific groupings, such as the sectors of a city, or sectors of a circle in geometry, in translations of the word “sector” from English. In many contexts, however, the English term “sector” is used without transliteration. Etymology traces sektor back to Latin, passing into various European languages through French and other intermediaries, with the sense of a dividing line or partition.
