Unlike traditional floor-mounted toilets, the cistern is concealed within the wall cavity, and the bowl protrudes from the wall. This design creates a visually clean and minimalist appearance in the bathroom.

The installation of a seinäWC involves a robust metal frame, known as a concealed cistern frame or flushing system, which is securely fastened to the wall studs and the floor. The toilet bowl is then attached to this frame. The plumbing and the cistern are hidden behind a false wall or paneling, typically tiled to match the rest of the bathroom. The flush button is usually located on the front or top of this paneling, serving as the only visible control.

The advantages of a seinäWC include ease of cleaning the bathroom floor, as there are no visible pipes or base to trap dirt. It also contributes to a more spacious feel in smaller bathrooms due to its streamlined design.
