Schönen is a declined form of the German adjective schön, meaning beautiful, pleasant, or good. In German, adjectives change their endings to reflect the gender, number, and case of the nouns they modify, as well as the presence or absence of a determiner. Schönen is one of the common inflected forms and appears in several typical patterns.

In masculine singular accusative, especially after an indefinite article or in strong declension without a determiner, you encounter forms like einen schönen Tag. In idiomatic use, the standalone phrase Schönen Tag noch! is a shortened greeting meaning Have a nice day. Schönen can also appear in plural contexts, for example die schönen Tage (nominative plural) or mit schönen Tagen (dative plural).

In other cases and for other genders, different endings are used. For example, eine schöne Blume (feminine nominative or accusative, with a preceding indefinite article) and der schönen Blume (dative feminine with a definite article).
