Rumpusiivilä is a Finnish term that translates to "drum sieve" or "drum filter." It refers to a type of cylindrical screen used in various industrial processes, particularly in the pulp and paper industry, as well as in wastewater treatment. The primary function of a rumpusiivilä is to separate solid particles from a liquid stream.

The device typically consists of a rotating drum that is covered with a perforated screen or mesh. The slurry or liquid containing solids is fed into the interior of the drum. As the drum rotates, the liquid passes through the perforations, leaving the larger solid particles on the inside surface of the screen.
