Rovinge is a small municipality located in the historical province of Zeeland, in the southwestern part of the Netherlands. The village lies near the river Scheldt and is bounded to the north by the town of Terneuzen and to the south by the coastal area of Westkapelle. Covering an area of approximately 9 square kilometres, Rovinge is characterised by a mix of agricultural land, low-lying polders, and a few disused industrial sites from the early twentieth century. The landscape is typical of the Dutch sea below sea level, with dykes and small windmills still visible in the surrounding countryside.
