Rocíador is the Spanish term for a device that disperses water, often in a fine mist or spray. In agricultural and horticultural contexts it functions as an irrigation system, delivering water efficiently to crops and lawns. The device can also be used for cooling, humidification, or for floating plants in small ornamental ponds.

There are several types of rociadores, ranging from simple manual sprayers that can be hand‑held or attached to a garden hose, to fully automatic systems that regulate flow and timing. Other varieties include high‑pressure misting guns used in greenhouse operations, and large sprinkler heads for municipal water distribution. Each design is selected according to the irrigation area, climate, and desired water distribution pattern.

Typical components of a rociador incorporate a nozzle, a valve or pressure regulator, and a hose or piping system. Modern models may include timers, sensors for soil moisture, or GPS‑controlled deployment units. The nozzle design determines droplet size; finer nozzles produce mist for larger surface coverage, while coarse nozzles send larger droplets suitable for deep root zones.

The use of rociadores offers benefits such as uniform water coverage, reduced evaporation, and lower labor costs. However, they can also pose challenges. Improper sizing can lead to water wastage or insufficient coverage, and some systems may sputter under low pressure or clog from mineral deposits.

Rocioidally similar devices are found worldwide. In Portuguese, the equivalent terminology is roçadeira or spraint da água. In other Iberian languages, the word appears with slight variations; in many contexts it refers to the same general concept of a spray or watering device rather than a specific brand or model.
