Riks nivå is a Swedish term that translates to "national level" or "state level" in English. It refers to the highest level of government or administration within a country, particularly in a federal or highly decentralized system where regional or local levels also exist. In Sweden, which is a unitary state, "riksnivå" typically denotes the authority and decision-making power held by the national government and parliament (Riksdagen).

The concept of riksnivå is important for understanding the distribution of power and responsibilities. While local municipalities and regions have significant autonomy in certain areas like education, healthcare, and social services, fundamental policy decisions, national laws, defense, and foreign policy are determined at the riksnivå.
