This martial art is known for its fluid, graceful movements and emphasis on practical self-defense techniques.

Rieutai is closely associated with the Wing Chun (詠春) system, though it is considered a distinct style with its own unique characteristics. The art was developed by a group of martial artists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including figures like Ip Man, who later became a key figure in popularizing Wing Chun globally.
