Reeltosheet is a manufacturing process that converts continuous lengths of film or tape mounted on a reel into discrete sheets. The technique is applied primarily in the printing, packaging and textile industries where materials such as paper, plastic film or yarn are supplied in reel form. The process allows a continuous roll to be cut and flattened into standardized sheet dimensions suitable for further processing or retail.

The core of a reeltosheet system is a mechanized press that feeds the reel onto a rotating drum or set of rollers. The film is guided through a series of cutters and rollers that separate the continuous strand into individual sheets. To preserve surface quality, many systems employ pressure calibration and temperature control to prevent curling, wrinkling or sheet tearing.

Reeltosheet equipment has evolved from simple manual presses in the early twentieth century to sophisticated computer‑controlled machines with automation. Modern units typically feature programmable register settings that adjust cutting length, aligning each sheet with a high degree of precision. In some applications, the machine also includes an in‑line humidity sensor to maintain sheet integrity for hygroscopic materials such as corrugated board or paper.
