Redcolorblind, also known as red-green color blindness, is the most common type of inherited color vision deficiency. It affects an individual's ability to distinguish between shades of red and green. This condition is caused by a genetic mutation on the X chromosome, which is why it is much more prevalent in males than in females. Females have two X chromosomes, and if one has the defective gene, the other healthy X chromosome can compensate. Males have only one X chromosome, so if it carries the defective gene, the condition will manifest.
