reaktiiviväri
Reaktiiviväri, or reactive dye, is a class of highly colored organic compounds used extensively in textile dyeing. Its defining characteristic is its ability to form a covalent bond with the fiber being dyed. This chemical reaction creates a permanent bond, resulting in excellent wash fastness and color stability. Reaktiivivärit are particularly effective on cellulosic fibers such as cotton, linen, and rayon, though they can also be used on wool and silk under specific conditions.
The dyeing process with reaktiiviväri typically involves an alkaline medium, which activates both the dye molecule
