Key considerations in reactor design include selecting the appropriate reactor type, determining optimal operating conditions like temperature, pressure, and residence time, and ensuring effective mixing and heat management. Safety aspects are paramount, involving preventing runaway reactions and managing hazardous materials. Economic viability is assessed by considering capital costs, operating expenses, and product yield. Reactor engineering is crucial for a wide range of industries, including petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and fine chemicals.
