päevakorrast

Päevakorrast is an Estonian term that refers to the arrangement or plan for the day. It describes the sequence of activities, tasks, and events that make up a typical day for an individual, a group, or an organization. The concept is used in both formal and historical contexts and in everyday planning materials.

In schools, a day schedule (päevakorrast) organizes class periods, breaks, meals, assemblies, and other daily routines. In workplaces, military settings, or public institutions, it designates shifts, meetings, work tasks, breaks, and meals. In household or personal planning, päe­vakorrast can denote a written or mental plan for the day—an agenda of tasks, appointments, and responsibilities.

Historically, strict daily order was common in regulated environments where punctuality and structure were essential. Today the idea persists in official documents, timetables, and organizational bulletins, though digital calendars and task managers have become the more common tools for daily planning. The term is still understood in modern Estonian, especially in formal or archival contexts, even as more common variants like päevakava or tööplaan are frequently used.
