Puolitushaku, also known as "puolitus" or "puolitushaun" in Finnish, is a traditional Finnish method of hunting that involves the use of a bow and arrow. The term "puolitushaku" translates to "half-hunting" or "half-shooting," reflecting the practice of hunting in pairs, where one hunter remains stationary while the other shoots from a distance. This method is particularly associated with the Saami people of Finland, who have historically used it to hunt reindeer.

The puolitushaku technique requires a high degree of skill and coordination between the two hunters. The stationary hunter, known as the "puolittaja," remains in a fixed position, often hidden behind a tree or other cover, while the other hunter, the "ampuja," takes aim and shoots from a distance.
