Punktar

Punktar is a term used in some Scandinavian language varieties as the plural form of punkt, meaning point or dot. It is most commonly encountered in Norwegian Nynorsk, where punktar denotes multiple points in contexts such as locations on a map, items in a list, or data points in a chart. In other standards, Bokmål uses punkter for the same sense, while Swedish generally uses punkter as well; thus punktar is not the standard plural in mainstream Norwegian or Swedish, but may appear in dialectal, historical, or regional writing.

In addition to its linguistic use, punktar can also occur in older typographical or educational texts as a direct form of pluralization for the word punkt.

In modern typography and computing, translations usually favor punkt (singular) and punkter or punktum (for plural, depending on the sense) rather than punktar. The term has limited presence outside Nordic languages.
