pulzoximéter
A pulzoximéter, or pulse oximeter, is a non-invasive medical device used to measure a person's blood oxygen saturation level and pulse rate. It works by shining a beam of light through a translucent part of the body, such as a fingertip, earlobe, or toe. The device then measures the amount of light absorbed by the hemoglobin in the blood. Hemoglobin that is saturated with oxygen absorbs light differently than hemoglobin that is not. By analyzing these differences, the pulzoximéter can calculate the percentage of blood that is carrying oxygen, known as oxygen saturation (SpO2).
The device typically consists of a clamp-like device that is clipped onto the patient's body part. A
Pulzoximeters are widely used in hospitals, clinics, and by individuals for home monitoring. They are particularly
