Pulversveising is a welding process that uses a granular fusible material, known as flux, to protect the molten weld pool from atmospheric contamination. The heat source for pulversveising is usually an electric arc, which is struck between a consumable electrode and the workpiece. The electrode, often a continuous wire, is fed through a nozzle that also dispenses the flux. The arc melts both the electrode and the base metal, creating a weld pool. The flux melts and floats on top of the weld pool, and after cooling, the solidified slag is typically removed.

Pulversveising offers several advantages, including high deposition rates, excellent weld quality, and reduced spatter. It is well-suited for welding thicker materials and can be used in various positions. The process is also effective for joining different types of metals and alloys.
